rich46 Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Hello All, Bushings gone in OEM reaction rod. Would like to replace with Rossopuro unit. Does anyone know if there is somewhere one can order one in the states. Can't seem to get a response from the parent company. If not the USA the UK would be good. Thanks for any help or other suggestions. Rich
luhbo Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Consider a DIY solution. An Italian friend tried to get one for his Scura, but only got the reply they'd not do any V11 parts any longer. Besides that it's also possible to replace the bushings only - if you can source them, though. Hubert
Baldini Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 MG Cycle have this Stucchi one: http://www.mgcycle.com/advanced_search_result.php?search_in_description=1&inc_subcat=1&keywords=V11+reaction+rod&x=0&y=0
gstallons Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Yeow ! Beautiful part. Dept. of Defense price. Elastomeric ( I suppose) bushings are the way to go. Get it.
grossohc Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 They do come up on german ebay from time to time.

motowarren Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 What's the matter with making one with Aluminum tubing and heim ends?
GuzziMoto Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Todd over at GuzziTech sells RossoPuro. He would be someone in the US. http://forum.guzzitech.com/store/product/cid-115.html
gstallons Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 What's the matter with making one with Aluminum tubing and heim ends? there would be NO give whatsoever in the rod.
LowRyter Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 why can't someone press in new bushings? why is the whole piece junked?
Admin Jaap Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 While where at it, what's the measurement between both holes? The one in the picture below is from a 1100 sport. Is it the same on a V11?
luhbo Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 What's the matter with making one with Aluminum tubing and heim ends? It's been done quite often, with good results, means it works as the OEM part works.

It's been done quite often, with good results, means it works as the OEM part works. I wonder if it would not work rather better as the Heim centers would allow rotation while the factory unit resists the suspension travel through torsion on the rubber. Seems it would be an improvement to let the hydraulics do the damping. Just a theory, mind you . . .
luhbo Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 ... Just a theory, mind you . . . A theory not very far off I think. As mine is still good I say the advantages to be be gained are less than the effort for building one Hubert

I wonder, also, if sealed bearing could be pressed in to replace the rubber inserts. I do like the look of the cast rod. 1
