kwacluver Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Hi, anyone out there in Le mans Land able to help me source the paint code for the dark metallic grey used on black bikes and some others. have been pointed in the direction of websites but after much reading all I know is that the paint was made by Lechler. If any one can give me an actual code that would be great. My Local Guzzi dealership CAN'T !!!!!
Admin Jaap Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Welcome to the forum! Paint codes for the V11 series are somewhat of a holy grail. MG never issued them. A good painter can scan and match your color. Good luck and if you happen to find the # please share!
Mjingen Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Well, maybe i've found the holy grail of the V11 painting codes or/and paint recipe's...... I was searching for the paintcode for my rockercovers for my Café Sport and through some carpaint website's etc. etc. i've found the AkzoNobel search mode for car paints. There i found that Moto Guzzi motors was also in the list and when you search you're color, you can get a complete recipe for all kinds of paint mixtures. I've yet to find a painter who uses AkzoNobel paint an try it. So i can't yet confirm of these are the right ones. I'm going to try it this spring when i'm going to let my rockercovers get a new finish. Gr. Mjingen

Admin Jaap Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Can't find the Grigio Titanium used on the V11 Le Mans, or am I doing something wrong?
luhbo Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 It's not on their list. However, this colour normaly is an easy find. Check the colour shops in your area. Lechler for instance calls it GUZ 28, master is 193E. But that's just one type of grey. Maybe there's not much difference between them and that this is the reason that Akzo offers much less different tones. It's a design thing, that's a world beyond any rational experiencies Hubert
kwacluver Posted January 25, 2013 Author Posted January 25, 2013 Gentlemen, I thank you. the master and Lechler numbers are very useful . I have access to a local auto paint supplier who can make me up a reasonable quantity in spray can. He is prepared to do a spectrum analysis to match the colour but a code will interest him far more. I am visiting him in the next three weeks, if I match the grigio titanium I will share all That I discover
steviek Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Hi, Rookie Any luck with the paint match? I'm looking for a match for the footrest hangers.
vuzzi Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Here's a link to some info on the Dutch Guzi club that may be helpfull: http://www.mgcn.nl/index.php/mg-paint-codes-dameijer-database-40 or this: http://www.rsbikepaint.com/en-gb/colours.php#makeid=98&modelid=2919&prodyear=2001&colourscheme=8192
Steve S Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 RS Bike Paint in the UK have supplied me with some hard to find paints like the Tenni Pearl Green on the Griso SE and the Candy Red on the Rosso Mandello.
vuzzi Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Is the candy red on the Rosso the same as on the 'normal' red le mans?
Admin Jaap Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 No, the RossoMandello red is more orange like
luhbo Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Yes, Rosso Mandello is the same as Verde Legnano, just a different tone Hubert
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 No, the RossoMandello red is more orange like The dealer here actually got a paint code from Guzzi for the RM and it is composed of two colours .... a base with a red on top. I can try to find the code from them when I get home.
