petr9841 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Hi Anyone know if i can use V11 02-03 zylinder for 1100 sport ie engine? Problem is with nigusil flaking off. Thanks
Guzzirider Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 The cylinder assemblies are different part numbers but maybe it is possible?
petr9841 Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 Yes they are different, but maybe it will work. Cylinderheads and cranckase are almost the same.
callison Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 The V11 Sport left cylinder has the newer temperature sensor mount point. Other than that, I think they should be completely compatible.
petr9841 Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 As i know they have different piston. V11 had black surface on it. Temperature sensor is mounted on Cylinderhead - V11 or Rockercover - 1100 sport. But anyway thank you i will try it and send you feedback.

The V11 Sport heads were different than the Sport 1100i's and so were the pistons. The V11 Sport barrel is I think, identical in all the necessary areas to swap into the Sport 1100i. I hope to heaven that the Sport 1100i I'm about to throw another $2000 worth of engine work into doesn't have deteriorating cylinder wall plating.
moto fugazzi Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 What about having them re-plated? http://www.mt-llc.com/cylinder.php Ken
petr9841 Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 I already spent more than 2500 bucks for complete restoration. And this all only in parts. Now i dont want pay another 2000 bucks for new cylinders and pistons. I already buy used V11 cylinders with 12000 km on it. And hopefully it will works.
gstallons Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 HiAnyone know if i can use V11 02-03 zylinder for 1100 sport ie engine? Problem is with nigusil flaking off. Thanks Why don't you have these cylinders replated ?
petr9841 Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 Because of money. 500 euros for replating + pistons. Or some tuners ofer set for 800 euro.
Mike Stewart Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 well, if the V11 Sport cylinders are the same, I have a set of cylinders from a 2000 Jackal with low miles (12,000) on ebay right now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/290882278098?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 These are the lowest priced V11 cylinders on ebay (US). Way cheeper than having your cylinders rechromed. I also have a set of FBF high compression pistons for sale on ebay, don't know if they fit your bike though. Mike
petr9841 Posted March 21, 2013 Author Posted March 21, 2013 So, I already buyed used V11 2002 cylinders with 12000 Km on it. And Yes, it is possible use V11 cylinders for 1100 sport ie. Pistons are the same, only V11 piston have black surface to minimalize friction. http://mvmoto.sweb.cz/cylinder/1100piston.JPG - 1100 sport piston http://mvmoto.sweb.cz/cylinder/V11piston.JPG - V11 piston Cylinders have more modifications, but basicaly they are the same as well. http://mvmoto.sweb.cz/cylinder/1100cy.JPG - 1100 sport http://mvmoto.sweb.cz/cylinder/V11cyl.JPG - V11 http://mvmoto.sweb.cz/cylinder/1100iecool.JPG - 1100 sport http://mvmoto.sweb.cz/cylinder/V11cool.JPG - V11 http://mvmoto.sweb.cz/cylinder/1100%20ie.JPG - 1100 sport http://mvmoto.sweb.cz/cylinder/V11.JPG - V11 And now, how Guzzi care about Quality check - http://mvmoto.sweb.cz/cylinder/Qualitycheck.JPG - it is usable - not in contact with piston.
petr9841 Posted March 21, 2013 Author Posted March 21, 2013 Reason why nigusil dissapeared is corrosion (humidity+salt) not mechanical or quality problem. Previous owner from GB made bad or no service.
