st. augustine Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 What's you guys/gals thoughts on this? http://medford.craigslist.org/mcy/3847895631.html apologize if this has already been posted
Tom M Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 That's a cool little Guzzi. If you have a use in mind like riding a Giro event or something I think it would be a fun project.
st. augustine Posted July 1, 2013 Author Posted July 1, 2013 but that price? usually wouldn't even talk more that 500 for something missing parts and stuff. Where would one get a carb for that anyway?
Tom M Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 There are old Italian bike specialists out there like http://guzzino.com that could help track down parts. Finding a carb shouldn't be real hard once you figure out what the original was. The kickstarter and side cover could be tougher to find. I honestly don't know what something like that is worth. If it was an old Japanese enduro I could see it going for $500 or less, but it's not. It's a pretty rare Guzzi. Value depends on how bad you want it and how bad he wants to get rid of it. FWIW the NADA guide says Excellent Condition= $4730, Very Good = $2630, Good = $1055, Fair = $840, Poor = NA I've considered getting an enduro like an Ossa or something for a project but I haven't yet because realistically I'd probably hardly ever ride it. They aren't good on the street and the suspension and brakes are so far behind even twenty year old bikes that they're pretty useless off road too, unless you stick to mild terrain. That Guzzi probably couldn't keep up with a Hodaka.
WitchCityBallabio Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Sorry about resurrecting a dead thread. Did you end up buying it? I picked one up and restored it and it's a fun little bike. FWIW, I hit 62 mph with mine on a recent Moto Giro which I don't think is unreasonable for a 125. I wouldn't want to run it up there all day, but it will do it if pushed. Here is the restored end result at the Giro.. 2
Tom M Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Beautiful restoration there Doug! I take it that 62mph was downhill? How did you do in the Giro?
