Blueboarhound Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 So about a year ago I caught a few episodes of Long Way Round on Outdoor Network and I always wanted to finish watching it so I jumped on eBay and bought both LWR and LWD on DVD. I also bought the hard bound illustrated book that accompanied LWD. I was pleasantly surprised to see some Moto Guzzi content both on the DVD and in the book. In LWD whenever Ewan McGregor was tooling around London in the episodes that covered the pre-trip planning and preparations he was on his Griso and once they were on their way they made a stop at the Moto Guzzi factory and Museum as they passed through Italy. On a side note the day the package arrived my wife was like "you can watch those on your days off when I'm not home" so of course I had to put the DVD in immediately after dinner. Only made it through one episode before needing to hit the rack. The next day I get an e-mail from my wife to the effect of "we gonna watch the next episode tonight....." 1
SCole Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 What is the basic story? Don't know anything about it but sounds like something I might like?? Is it off the network now?
Blueboarhound Posted July 3, 2013 Author Posted July 3, 2013 What is the basic story? Don't know anything about it but sounds like something I might like?? Is it off the network now? The trips were taken in 2004 and 2007 respectively. I caught a few episodes being replayed a year ago but have not seen it on TV since then which is why I just bit the bullet and purchased them. There are also a few coffee table books that compliment the DVD's. Here are a few links to check out. http://www.longwayround.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Way_Round http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Way_Down
Dan M Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 When my riding buddy was battling cancer a few years ago I bought him the set of both LWD and LWA. It is a great series to watch when you can't ride. Since then I watched an early episode of LWD with my wife. She got hooked too. I ended up buying the series for myself as well.
