helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Hawkwind is touring again this year ... including North America!! The tour will feature the album Warrior on the Edge of Time ... one of my favourites ..... (as is every other album). I have tickets to Toronto on October 7th. http://www.hawkwindmuseum.co.uk/tour%20dates.htm#Warrior_On_The_Edge_Of_Time_2 Sorry ... this computer won't let me post the link any other way ...
docc Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 BC to Ontario must be a hairy rotorcraft ride. You do that just over the tree tops? 1
moto fugazzi Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Damn. I'm in Milwaukee and the closest they'll be is in Chicago, but I'll be in Minneapolis that day for a work conference. BTW, I hate Chicago (mostly the traffic). Ken
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted July 9, 2013 Author Posted July 9, 2013 BC to Ontario must be a hairy rotorcraft ride. You do that just over the tree tops? Hoping it will be the end of the season in Manitoba (where I am flying) and then fly the helicopter back to Québec (that's where the company I work for is based). Otherwise it will be an airplane ticket on top of the Hawkwind ticket (cheaper than the UK .... just).
gavo Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Hey you guys are lucky, they don't even come to Oz and I'd love to see them.
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Hey you guys are lucky, they don't even come to Oz and I'd love to see them. I can get some extra concert tickets if you get the plane tickets!! I bought my first Hawkwind album in 1974 ... I still have all the LP's up to about 1984 plus some EP's and singles. I'll be setting up the turnatable in the basement this fall if anyone wants to drop by. Don't forget the purple microdot!
GraeV11 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 If you get a chance, check out young Nik. He still gives good Hawkwind, and other cool sounds. Some clips here . . . http://www.nikturner.com/
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 Nik Turner .... Inner City Unit was a blast. I still have some of their vinyl. Then there was Nik Turners Shynx .... XITINTODAY - with Steve Hillage and Miguette Girady. Some of was recorded at the Kings tomb Inside the Great Pyramid in Egypt. Freaky .... Here is some music .. http://youtu.be/2U05HunYjwM Dig the music for this Ford commercial ... http://youtu.be/uBnbKjKcD7Q
docc Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 I guess if you know what "turntable" means, you don't have to ask about the purple microdot . .

docc Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Ok . . . so . . . I'm glad I asked. I think it's great that Helio-Jim doesn't mind your posting pics of his gf on the forum.
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted July 11, 2013 Author Posted July 11, 2013 Stacia was a girl who showed up at the concerts in the early 70's and ....well .. just danced!! Baldini knows what I'm talking about!
