al_roethlisberger Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Who else spotted the brief image of the left hand side of a Griso engine during the Maserati Ghibli Superbowl commercial? Al
docc Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Oh, man! I missed all that tonight installing PIAA lights on the son's MiniCooperS. The commercials are the best!
docc Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Yeah, cool: here it is on Jalopnik. The Guzzi motor is at second :51. ã propos with Maserati's early involvement with the spine fame!
moto fugazzi Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I caught that too watching it live. Good eye! I was going to rewind, but the others were too busy watching the game and commercials. Ken
hoytstaab Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Spotted that too. Nice one Maserati http://youtu.be/Y-AV0f8g4CE
gstallons Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 The car's a bit special too. Oh, the noise! The "noise" ? The "growl" maybe..
felix42o Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Ha, yeah I caught that. I missed the exhaust so I couldn't quite tell it was a Griso (I thought it was a Cali). but I did see the valve cover. What a wonderful sound that car makes. Too bad about the rest of the entire thing being such a waste of time.
AndyH Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 A Maserati owner told me that if you get a problem with the engine, they hook it out, shrink wrap it and send it off to Italy. No one (in the UK dealers anyway) works on them themselves - small volumes etc. This guy however actually does for himself rather than going through all that: got the manual, tools etc. The point is, they're talking 50,000 units per annum according to one bit of blurb (on the Internet so must be true - what's a zero between friends?), so they'd better get a few more mechanics in their dealers who know the difference between their big end and bell end before trying for those numbers. Got their eye on rich Chinese Party officials and oligarchs, evidently.
docc Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 So, there is some Piaggio-Fiat connection that would land the Moto Guzzi in such a precious second of air time?
footgoose Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 was that even a whole second? nice to see it tho, & thanks.
