docc Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Gonna miss waspp and LowRyter both : ( Glad to be seeing Bill Hagan again this year, but will also miss one of the other inaugural Raiders. I even offered to write him a note to get him outta that Atlanta gig. I'm really gonna miss being devoured by the exhaust note of Andy's Gianellis when he (inevitably) wafts by my draggy pace.
LowRyter Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 maybe next year Docc. I rode the Greenie to Springfield for the Mile but came up blanks with trailering the beast to Telico Planes. Man, retired life is just too busy to get everything done. This weekend I have a tickets to see the Sooners play some orange team from the east. So poor those folks in Appalachia that they can't even send their pep band over here. Anyway. here's some photos from Springfield I took: who would win? the King of Cool. 1
docc Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Haha! Man, I've having trouble feeling sorry for you! Great pics - hope we can make you just as envious with the pics of the (coming) weekend!
LowRyter Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 ooohh yes.......these guys. The editor's from "Mad Magazine" aka the usual gang of idiots. - Franklin, North Carolina, Sept 2013
LowRyter Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 How many states are these guys wanted in? Lucky they didn't get caught since their lawyer was laid up (locked up?). 2
docc Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 My sides hurt from laughing with these guys so hard. Great roads. Zero rain; and some really expert riding. True Raiders of the Lost Spine!
docc Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Sometimes "things Guzzi" are to be very serious: ATTENTION ON DECK! Then the true spirit breaks through:
Rufus Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Glad everyone stayed dry. Sorry I missed the trip, maybe next year.
docc Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Well, no one who made breakfast at MarcyJo's and rode clear to Fall Creek Falls and back through the Dry Fork Gulf (best motorcycle road in Tennessee) can say they "missed the trip" entirely! The *other* Honda rider really needed you there for moral support. He didn't understand when we pulled up a bucket to sit on and adjust his valves . . .
docc Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 This year's tech session: How To Replace a Wayward Crossover Pipe
chamberlin Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Two Coppas? Man I wish I coulda been there's for that gathering and tour! Would have been worth it to have you guys help me tune my motor before the ride! More pics!
docc Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 You know you're on a Spine Raid when everyone knows which guy has what tools . . .
Bill Hagan Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Words fail me. My ST1300-riding friend, George, is fascinated by Guzzis and Guzzisti. He and Dennis -- "der Kanzler" -- joined us (again) for the SSR. Possibly, “fascinated” is insufficiently strong to capture George's madness. He talks of little else. As weird as this little vid is, it stems from affection. Perhaps his views amount to a character and behavior disorder, but they evidence affection nonetheless. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8r0tbjmSls&feature=youtu.be I have a much milder slideshow coming. I will encourage George to seek help. Bill
docc Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I will encourage George to seek help. The only known treatment: SSR/ Next . . . A genuine nugget of the mild to moderate madness that is the South'n Spine Raid. George should really come back again next year, but bring his Kubota so he can keep up and we don't have to work on that silly Honda of his . . .
