luhbo Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 End cool! The less cool thing is trying to get one. Pricey and hard to find. Those that go abroad are the left overs, quite the same way as it is with the US stuff exported to us.
sp838 Posted March 19, 2014 Author Posted March 19, 2014 Wonder how many are left in the Motherland... I can see myself riding one from the outskirts of Turin, over the Alps into the south of France, fully loaded with with barrels of wine, pasta and cured meats... I better start buying some titanium parts right now! 1
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Here you go .... pop the cab off for summer use and back on for the rainy season! Send us pictures when you get it and maybe a bunch of us can come bring you some wine!! http://cgi.ebay.ca/ebaymotors/Moto-Guzzi-Ercole-Closed-Cab-Very-Good-Condition-Hydraulic-Dump-Bed-/171271477079?_uhb=1&pt=US_motorcycles&hash=item27e0935757&forcev4exp=true#ht_500wt_1284 1
John in Leeds Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I had hoped to see a couple of the popular Ercoles in the Moto Guzzi museum a couple of weeks ago. There was only this baby one on display 2

John in Leeds Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Fair play to you it would be a bit steady with this power plant You might like to look at Fellini's film La Strada with Anthony Quinn where Quinn use an Ercole as his home and transport for his travelling show Although I might just have this wrong http://www.motoguzziercole.it/film.asp just looking at the engine. 2
sp838 Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 That bike (or I guess trike) in La Strada, is in fact a 1945 Sertum Motocarro 500. Also very cool. http://cybermotorcycle.com/gallery/sertum/Sertum_Motocarro_500.htm Apparently these were a thing back then. Here is a Benelli version: http://progress-is-fine.blogspot.com/2014/01/motocarro-benelli.html
John in Leeds Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Thanks for the links but now I think it has to be the ercole
Admin Jaap Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 At the GMG in Mandello in 2006 there was an Ercole that transported two small Guzzi oldtimers. Great stuff!
luhbo Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Those 3 blokes on the right of it, were they Dutch or were they German? Hubert
Admin Jaap Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Sandals and socks,.. definetely not Italian :-) I suspect they were German. Sorry Luhbo ;-) 2
