guzzisvt Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 I bought a new set of rings for my 97 sport with 107k miles on it but when I went to check the ring gap I was in for a big surprise, like a 1/4" surprise . I checked the part numbers on the set and each ring and they are correct. My calculation say they are for a 90 mm bore, 1000 Daytona, instead of the 92mm bore of the 1100 Sport. Anyone else ever have this problem?
andy york Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 sounds to me like they sent you the wrong rigs. There is a formula for ring end gap, I don't recall exactly but something along the lines of .003-.004 for every 1" of bore. Need to get those folfs on the horn and tell them what happened. 92mm is 3.622" Surprisingly, I probably would have a broken ring now ....don't see how you got it on
dxhall Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I just bought a set of rings for my 96 Sport 1100. Gaps were right on spec. Got them from Harpers.
