I bought a new set of rings for my 97 sport with 107k miles on it but when I went to check the ring gap I was in for a big surprise, like a 1/4" surprise . I checked the part numbers on the set and each ring and they are correct. My calculation say they are for a 90 mm bore, 1000 Daytona, instead of the 92mm bore of the 1100 Sport.

Anyone else ever have this problem?

sounds to me like they sent you the wrong rigs. There is a formula for ring end gap,

I don't recall exactly but something along the lines of .003-.004 for every 1" of bore.

Need to get those folfs on the horn and tell them what happened.

92mm is 3.622"

Surprisingly, I probably would have a broken ring now ....don't see how you got it on

I just bought a set of rings for my 96 Sport 1100. Gaps were right on spec. Got them from Harpers.
