Maybe this will prompt Piaggio/Moto Guzzi to get on the stick a build the 3 cylinder diesel military bike that Carcano thought should be their next move.

You see 3-cylinder Diesel conversions based on Triumph frames from time to time, at least over here. They mostly use Italian industry implants, also Daimler SMART engines are a good fit.

This gives very nice bikes, not the fastest, though, but for every day use on country roads this concept is long overdue.

Not an illness like that. A motorbike, 60 Diesel HP, 4 gears. You wouldn't want anything different once you rode one (I guess ;)).

FWIW. A couple of years ago we had a small Dutch bike manufacturer that produces the Track diesel all road adventure bike. With a Smart engine. Sadly it was too expensieve to become a success. They have stopped production, but they Will start up when they find investors, afaik.
