helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Ducati is going to build a diesel motor. Check out this limk - Diesel Multistrada I reckon we can expect a Hybrid Stelvio soon!
docc Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Maybe this will prompt Piaggio/Moto Guzzi to get on the stick a build the 3 cylinder diesel military bike that Carcano thought should be their next move.
luhbo Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 You see 3-cylinder Diesel conversions based on Triumph frames from time to time, at least over here. They mostly use Italian industry implants, also Daimler SMART engines are a good fit. This gives very nice bikes, not the fastest, though, but for every day use on country roads this concept is long overdue. Hubert
PDoz Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 If you really want a diesel stelvio... http://ntlongfar.en.alibaba.com/product/1731796410-214974940/870cc_Air_cooled_Diesel_marine_inboard_engine_D40H.html
AndyH Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I think there's been a diesel Enfield knocking around for a few years (literally!).
luhbo Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Not an illness like that. A motorbike, 60 Diesel HP, 4 gears. You wouldn't want anything different once you rode one (I guess ). Hubert
docc Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 April Fool!!!  You guys should be ashamed of yourselves tricking old gits into crazy dreams!
Admin Jaap Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 FWIW. A couple of years ago we had a small Dutch bike manufacturer that produces the Track diesel all road adventure bike. With a Smart engine. Sadly it was too expensieve to become a success. They have stopped production, but they Will start up when they find investors, afaik. http://www.dieselmotorfiets.nl
