MixxedupMedia Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 I swapped my clip-ons for upright bars on my 2002 Scura and was wondering whether the Ohlins front forks could be repositioned lower in the triple trees in order to effectively raise the bar height some more. Has anyone experimented with this?
JBBenson Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I would guess as long as the top of the fork tube is not lower than the top of the triple clamp, it's probably OK. But, if you do so, you will change the geometry of the chassis, putting more weight on the back wheel, which you are already doing by using standard bars. So the handling will change, (perhaps a lot) with the large drop in the forks (if you make them flush with the triple). . You are essentially increasing the rake angle. Try it with some caution. It will probably become more truck-like. I think.
MixxedupMedia Posted May 25, 2014 Author Posted May 25, 2014 Sorry, Not selling the clip ons. I may change it back to stock someday.
Craig Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Sorry, Not selling the clip ons. I may change it back to stock someday. It was worth asking. I think they won't fit on the marzochhi's I have any way.
