Denis Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 Bought a bottle of Tobermory as it was n offer in my local Morrisons supermarket. Again, liking this alot, my son likes it as well. Morrisons seem to have a much better selection of single malts and usually have one or two on reduced prices. Just as well , as I'm still exploring the various brands, haven't found one I haven't liked yet.
PhilPassmore Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 This bottle of Talisker Storm must be faulty, I bought it on Friday evening and it was full. It's Sunday evening now, and there's only half of it left............ The bottle must be leaking, or it is evaporation....... Only one possible explanation; You are drinking it too slowly!
helicopterjim R.I.P. Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Found a very nice Islay ..... Smokehead. Lots of peat and seaweed but doesn't have the bite. Actually very, very smooth! Unfortunately the bottle only lasted for 4 days of camping! http://www.smokehead.com/
stewgnu Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Came back from Scotchland with a bottle of Glenmorangie 12yr quinta ruban finish from the distillery. 'Tis thick and sweet and grapey.

grossohc Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Out on the bike yesterday and this thread came to mind. Went up to tomintoul, dufftown, grantown on spey along to keith passing quite a few of the distilleries on the way. Every carpark is full of coaches, cars and bikes doing the distillery tours. I have done this route a hundred times and never stopped or even bought a bottle. Might have to give it a try and see what all the fuss is about.
stewgnu Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 bastard... Ha! But now summer's over... he didn't mention the tartan umbrella welded to the yolks!
grossohc Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 bastard... Ha! But now summer's over... he didn't mention the tartan umbrella welded to the yolks! Need more than a tartan umbrella last night and today, a storm came through and the whole area is flooded, stay clear of the 2014 vintage it will be diluted
Denis Posted August 11, 2014 Author Posted August 11, 2014 Just returned from a short tour of Scotland . Stayed in Creiff and headed out to Oban and Fort William areas. Good time was had, and a few un tried whisky's were tasted. I particularly like the Oban single malt and my favourite was the Tamdhu. Can't seem to find Tamdhu locally though - might have to order online. I visited the Crieff Famous Grouse experience to see what a bigger distillery was like. Found out thatthe distilery at Crieff is used to make the single malt variety for the Famous Grouse group. The single malt distilled there is the Glenturret. Good informative tour, learnt quite alot about the distilling process on a somewhat larger scale than the Penderyn distillery.
Gregg Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Drinking Sullivans Cove Single Malt from Tasmania - lovely and Australian as well ! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
