Denis Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Hi, I have managed to get the fuel "quick release" couplings apart after some pushing and shoving..... There are two electrical connectors that need to be undone after that, one of them comes apart very easily, The difficult connector is the larger boxy connector that has , what can best be described as a lever , which can be either pressed or lifted. 30 minutes I have tried , what am I doing wrong? Comments appreciated.
fotoguzzi Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 lift the lever over the tab as you wiggle it apart. 1
Denis Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 Thanks, I'll have another attempt when my thumbs stop tingling from the "quick release" fittings.
terje_m Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Wish I had seen this before... I struggled with the same connection yesterday (the connector to the fuel indicator, the only connection on my tank). I got it off, but I destroyed it in the process. The connector on the tank side/side of the fuel indicator is totally broken. Can I replace only the connection(s) or am I best of replacing the entire fuel indicator? First time I take of the tank. Learning by doing (mistakes)...
Kiwi_Roy Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 The level probe is quite expensive, $190 over here, just use a different plug, spade connectors or similar There's not a lot of power on that connector, if you short the wires to chassis it will just make the light go.
