Just fitted these Apex bars from the US of A, nice quality and they have brought the bars closer and higher as needed, the tubes adjust in 8 positions for angle and they go up and down 4ins, the clamps can also be positioned anywhere around the fork tube either above the triple or below.

At the same time I ordered a set of Convertibars that do the same thing, I think I am sticking with the Apex so if anyone wants to buy them in the UK give me a shout, there are no UK importers for either of these products.

Do you need to change any cable or hydraulic pipe lengths ? Thanks.

Grae, all the stock pipes and cables can be used but I have replaced the brake pipe with a longer Goodridge one instead of rerouting the original. the clutch pipe reaches even on the highest setting.

Hi Steve,

What happened to those Jota bars you adapted? I thought that they were rather neat - and excellent value

Those bars were ok for comfort Hugh but the chrome didn't suit the bike and I was checking the bolts one day and one of the threads pulled out, so they got binned, these kits from the USA are just the job as the adjustability is endless, if you want the Convertibars the kit is unopened and brand new,

dare I ask how your bike is running now?

Hi Steve, I've been up to my eyeballs with work/ family stuff recently and the bike's been a bit neglected:-(

Hoping to put the crank sensor in and see what happens, although she starts and runs OK at the moment. Hate these intermittent faults.......

Hi Steve

I notice in your picture that you don't have the standard black pad on your tank.

Is this an accessory? If so where did you get it?

Thank you for posting your results with the Apex bars, Steve!  I just happened to be wrestling with what direction to take for a similar bar change on my '02.  I was considering the same suspects as you...Woodcraft, Convertibars, and Apex.

After seeing your results, I'm going with the Apex Riser bars as well.  I have already ordered them, along with a Ballabio brake hose for some extra length.  I do know that I am not going to be able to route the clutch hose as you did.  In my case it will need be routed behind the tree.  Probably a difference between '02 and '05.  Then again, it is highly likely that no two of our era Guzzis were built exactly the same.  ;)

I too am playing with the ergonomics of my V11. RPM in Texas promised to call me back about a set of longer brake and clutch lines, but never have. Are the Ballabio lines longer than the lines on the v11 Sport? How much longer? Maybe those are the answer.

The 05 bikes had a different tank with internal fuel pump and minus the black pad

I used Goodridge Build a Line kit for the longer brake hose and I would be surprised if the clutch hose won't reach, it's tight but it will work, the Balabio or Cafe Sport hoses will be longer if you can get them.

I still have the Convertibars for sale if anyone can use them in the UK

True, the 1999-2002 tanks are chin pad/external filter/pump and 2003 on have internal filter/pump and smooth top.

Steve, just curious, if your LeMans has a VIN tenth digit of "5" or "4?" (No one here has ever confirmed a V11 actually built in '05 . . .)

Correct Docc the VIN shows 04 manufacture and it was registered in the UK in May 05

They are longer than the stock Sport/Le Mans items  Moto International normally keeps them in stock because they are so handy for "bar raising" endeavors. $26.62 for clutch hose, $54.77 for front brake.

Thanks for the links. I ordered the hoses tonight - hope MI does better than RPM.
