The only opportunity this site gives me to post pictures is when i start a new topic, so I did that.  most of the pictues i have are too big to upload but i posted the same shot i use as my profile pic plus one from the rear under the title 'My bike's gorgeous but a Frankenstein of year models'

also, the original topic here has been solved.  The fairing is from the Sport model in 02 or thereabout and some of the parts are still available so I have the bracket on order. not sure about the availability of the fairing itself but i had that repainted.
