Bjorn Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Button head screws/bolts are very easily available in various materials, including stainless. Its not OEM, but i think they come pretty close....
chamberlin Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I could not find a separate Moto Guzzi part number for them in the diagram/breakdown documents. These must be LaFranconi assemblies. You will definitely be able to find inox hex button head replacements, but T30 TORX might be a little harder to find.
LowRyter Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 take one to match it and go to Ace Hardware. Perhaps use a little Locktite to keep them from shaking out when you screw in the replacement. Change them all out to get uniform fastener type and finish. .
chamberlin Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Not sure they have Ace Hardware in France...
LowRyter Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 really? "Ace" is the same word in French as in English, I don't see the problem.
Pi31478 Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 We don't have Ace Hardware in France, but the BHV (Bazar de l'Hôtel de Ville) is will knowned... Anyway, I ordered these screws on the web, I will let you know the detailed product number if they fit perfectly (not sure regarding the color)... By the way, Ace is As in French ;-)
LowRyter Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 ooooh geeess, I am glad it wasn't "ass". good luck on the screws. my real point was to take the screws to a hardware store and get a match. Hope it all works out. The wife and I are planning our first visit there next summer.
Don G Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 If you want the shiny stainless fasteners a gold colour, just warm them up with a propane torch! Use pliers to hold them of course! DonG
LowRyter Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 they'll probably turn color naturally on the exhaust tip.
Pi31478 Posted August 22, 2014 Author Posted August 22, 2014 Torx T30 inox 6x10 large domed head are fitting perfectly...
chamberlin Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I'm sure these guys can get you the correct fasteners: http://www.lafranconisilenziatori.com/eng/index.htm
Pi31478 Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 I asked them and Lafranconi team send me to...Moto Guzzi... No way ! I found the Torx T30 inox 6x10 with large domed head and they fit perfectly... Have a nice day !
chamberlin Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Wow, I thought for sure LaFranconi would be able to supply the screws! Well, I am glad that you found the 6x10 screws you needed regardless!
