Hi, I purchased a X-over when I went to Mandello recently, I've had it on for about 1500 miles, today whilst out for a run the bike lost power and started to sound loud, I pulled over and found that the x over had completely come apart at a weld! I managed to limp to a garage and did a repair to get me home. I have e mailed the seller, Agostini's, will wait to see what they say, but what to do,get it repaired? junk it? Has anyone had any issue before with one? It is the type that does away with the support bracket- cheers

I've never seen an aftermarket x-over (Mistral or stucchi) crack in that place ! Are you sure you mounted it tension free?

Sent from a clever thingy with a microprocessor and an interweb connection

My mate had one of these on his Scura and after welding it up twice he has junked it and gone back to the stock one, I recently bought a Mistral item and that was a loose fit on all four pipes and wouldn't tighten up so that went on Ebay, the stock collector is stronger and offers very little restriction.

It's a long way to send it back so if you want to keep it get it welded

That looks like a bottle of Chianti and a long lunch "weld".

and why is it made up of 10 bits of pipe when 2 would do it?

This x-over type i have never seen. But it sure looks like a piece of (s)crap.

Do you know manufacturer? Agostinis website shows a piece similar to yours, but with a mount plate fitted: http://www.torquepowermotorcycles.com.au/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=75&product_id=111

Stucchi x-over that I have (below) is basically 2 tubes. It also has a mountplate:

Yes mines the Stucchi with the support, no issues with mine. I personally wouldnt use the non support type.
