Somehow this reminded me of pulling the 'Sport into a parking lot full of new sportbikes.

Commenting on the costumes could easily be percieved as being a bit tacky, couldn't it?

So I wont...

What more "tacky" than wearing them, lol.

Don't get me wrong I can enjoy "tacky" sometimes but if you're going to wear it then you gotta embrace whatever comments come your way.

'Tacky' might be how they stay put.

Disney's Fantasia is an amazing compilation of music with animated video. And, hey: 1940!!

Tchaikovsky ?

Tchaikovsky it is, then.

At about 3:17, when the trippy Fantasia thistles go all Cossack, I feel mySport ripping off into the hillsides and along the creeks. All the melody up until then is just adjusting valves, seeing to tire pressures, and charging the battery . . .

I just watched it for a half minute.  Then wondered what the hell it was.  It's all AI!

OK, fooled me.  I thought it was costume stuff and special effects.  Then it occurred to me, who in the hell could afford this?    I checked the U Tube and found the site.  I guess that you all knew this?  Me being the gullible one.

I wouldn't say "gullible". The technology is still fairly new, and it is not common knowledge that it is so good. So one doesn't immediately question it.

That is the big problem with the whole thing: AI is becoming very powerful, and is not being questioned enough. It is a useful technology, but needs to be regulated at least a little bit.

I know this is just "splitting hairs", but wouldn't the more accurate term be "CG" (computer generated) for these images and voice overs we are seeing, and hearing, more and more of?

Yes, but AI is much more modern. Computer generated has been around for years...

AI does good at simple mimicry.  But is it ready for productivity and quality?

Odd this popped up.  I wrote a bit about AI today in Adv Rider.  The set up was regarding govt spending cuts and inserting AI replacing, rather than assisting, subject matter specialists.

(For govt screening AI) has been tried before and it's failed. Sorta like that AI voice to the local pharmacy or Walmart directing the caller to the right dept in the store determining whether grandma needs her meals of wheels, home nursing, or medicare. When I wrote fail, I mean catastrophic: no one heard from granny, the social worker goes into the the house finds her soiled and on the floor. (Note: just heard this example on NPR a couple of days ago)

The dirty secret about AI is that it takes AI upon AI for many layers until it works from a general application to have specific benefits. And it will take many layers of quality checks and time to determine whether the scheme actually works for each application. Given so many links in the chain, one link can have catastrophic effects. For now we only have human quality checks for each link until accuracy can be determined over time. Further, each link needs to be checked not only for the logic algorithm for the specific application but also each bit of data that feeds the model.

The geeks here can set me straight. I'd like to read the counter to what I've written.
