Errmmmm, that statement could easily provide the basis for a discussion that could go on all night and need several cases of beer to lubricate it. Without launching into that discussion now, I don't agree. I think most blues musicians wouldn't, either, just to name one example. On the contrary, most pop music isn't "real", even if the artists in question think they are making art. Most of it is just product. 1
gstallons Posted May 11 Posted May 11 All of the racket now is manufactured , written , produced and the singers are selected and is AI generated crap. Yes there are a few genuine musicians in existence. I will go along w/your point about blues music too. Blues music is different . I don't think there are that many counterfeit blues players. You have it or you don't . Plus you have blues and or blues influenced music. e.g. 99% of British music from the early 60s - on . Me , all good music is from Hwy 61. 1
docc Posted May 21 Posted May 21 The interwebs can be amazing. I am amazed that this song was ever performed live. And more amazed it was captured on video. Sure, it is a cacophony of sound and video, but, hey: " Blood Makes Noise !" 2

docc Posted May 22 Posted May 22 I saw this guy live at The Tampa Theater about 1980-ish. What a captivating showman . . . 5
docc Posted May 24 Posted May 24 I want to apologize about over-posting on this music thread. Not able to ride mySport much lately due to "complexities", music becomes my sanctuary. I thought of asking Molly Tuttle to marry me, but she would say >no<, my wife would be pissed, and they would never find the body . . . 1 2
LowRyter Posted May 24 Posted May 24 ^ great record. I still play it. I think it was on a thumbdrive I shared. Is there a sadder song than Red Dirt Girl? 1
docc Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Warren Haynes should not be overlooked in the country-blues-rock genre (if there is such a thing). That young man with the blonde ponytail might make something of himself if he marries right . . .
