p6x Posted July 18 Posted July 18 A classic that we used to listen to, many of us not understanding the lyrics, especially the gals.... lol... 1
audiomick Posted July 18 Posted July 18 So.... Samantha is playing the same type of Guitar as Angus. Must be good. I don't want a pickle either. I saw Ian Dury in Melbourne when that song was current. The man is brilliant. 'Nuff said.

I liked her better when she played her fish alike Telecaster, and before she changed her hair to the Marilyn look. Okay, I had to look at Samantha Fish before her current "look." This is the guitar you refer to, @p6x?

footgoose Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Revisiting Puccini, and Luciano's enormous tenor. Miss him. 2
p6x Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Those of you who listened to this song from a turntable, please holler!! 1

He was already over 70 at the time, and still amazing. The thing that really got me was the control of the voice. Pianissimo, and solid as a rock. Anyone can do loud, but doing really quiet under complete control is the sign of a master. That applies to singing, and every musical instrument I know. Edited July 23 by audiomick 2
audiomick Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Sad that he's gone, but over 90 years old is a good innings. I'm grateful for what he gave the world.
Lucky Phil Posted July 31 Posted July 31 (edited) Seen a bit of his work in the past backing Mark Knopfler. Phil Edited July 31 by Lucky Phil 3
docc Posted August 4 Posted August 4 These guys could have probably made something of themselves if they had stuck with it. 1
