brlawson Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 The crappy classic rock station here in town broke tradition and actually played some classic rock yesterday. Had the opportunity to see this live a couple of months before Chris Squires untimely death.
BigBlock Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Yes- Fragile, what a great album. Rick Wakeman wasn't to shabby on the keyboards either.
brlawson Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 Another RIP. Clyde Stubblefield. "One of the most sampled drummers" Heaven has to be a Jammin place by now. Too many have left us. 1
docc Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 "The funky drummer." "The funky drummer." "The funky drummer." "The funky drummer."
LowRyter Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Clyde? Well RIP, I didn't know. After hammering for JB, he was on "whadya know?" with Michael Feldman on NPR Saturday Mornings. The music accompaniment was a jazz trio with Clyde on the drums. Michael retired the show last summer after 30 years. Clyde might've been with Michael as long as with James. https://whadyaknow.net/
LowRyter Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Yes- Fragile, what a great album. Rick Wakeman wasn't to shabby on the keyboards either. Gosh, I think I saw Yes in concert probably 4 times in the 70s and early 80s. The last show I saw, they played in the round.
Chuck Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Dorcia and I's first date was Yes in the round..
bbolesaz Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 Went and saw the band "Musical Box" last night. They are a Peter Gabriel Genesis era tribute band that specializes in re-creating Genesis shows from the early 70's. Good show. V11 content, rode my Scura to the show. Made the night even better !
plexiform Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 my daughter is singing this while playing the ukulele for her school talent show so been listening to it a lot lately. love this song!
LowRyter Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Yes- Fragile, what a great album. Rick Wakeman wasn't to shabby on the keyboards either. Gosh, I think I saw Yes in concert probably 4 times in the 70s and early 80s. The last show I saw, they played in the round. well, guess who is back in business? Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman. http://www.arw-tour.com/ 1
bbolesaz Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Went and saw ARW when they came to Phoenix. Excellent show, highly recommended for Yes fans.
brlawson Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Lost one of the greats. Best contribution to rock and roll. RIP Chuck
LowRyter Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 while rock and roll is in known for white guys trying to sound black, Chuck invented rock and roll by imitating and mocking white country music. it's hard to imagine what we would be listening to today without Chuck. Perhaps the greatest influence on popular music and music in general than anyone in history. Rollover Beethoven.
Scud Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 We lost one of the blues greats the day before Chuck. James Cotton: 1
LowRyter Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 I just got the new Tedeschi Trucks record, Live From The Fox (Oakland). IMHO this is just about the best live band in existence. Anyway, if you're an old Derrick & Dominos fan, this Derrick lets it rip "Keep on Growing"
