LowRyter Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 writing of Setzer, I don't own any Stray Cats but I do have his Boogie Woogie Christmas Record. It's quite good. Big band, rockabilly. Anne Margaret and Lou Rawls are on it too. I have a family Christmas eve party and play some stuff by tradition. This is just fun to listen to at any time. This catches it: and when I heard this one, I thought Lou sounded like Frank 1
audiomick Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 the Stray Cats reference reminds me of this french Band, not the same thing actually, but there are similarities. The band played at a pub in Melbourne where I worked as the house technician for a couple of years in the '80s. It was a really good evening. Heaps of fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmZlc_Dl2ds PS: you tube doesn't allow embedding of that video for some reason. Here are search results for that band: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=happy+drivers+psychobilly

Art Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 Just found this minutes ago while planning the next 10 days of free outdoor Jazz. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6QOh_og_po I'm more low RPM these days, but I'll always love Zappa. 1
