I just added very little Hylomar bottom corners. No moisture. Old habbit I quess from old V8 intakes :rasta:.

For what it is worth, when I "announced" having bought the V11 in the German forum, I got advice from a few people about what to look at and so on. One bloke, an experienced Guzzi mechanic, said "get a spare part #14 and part #19 from this drawing. They will start leaking".

Haven't got them yet, but I will now be getting the GU05001231 rather than the considerably cheaper copy of the original that both Wendel and Stein Dinse offer. Thanks @guzziart for the part number.

neither of them make refernce to the part no. that guzziart quoted when one uses their model specific parts catalogues for the V11, but both bring up a hit if one searches for the part number:

Further down on the Stein Dinse page is the list "Passt an folgende Modelle", i.e. "fits these models".

This list seems to include pretty much any and all of the big block models, including the various V11 models. :)

I'm still in hopes of someone posting that they have used the GU05001231 and what their experiences with it have been.

Art, I assume you've read the post docc referred to earlier in the thread - that’s a pretty good endorsement for the newer gasket imo.

Quite apart from the post from Phil, I'm assuming that Guzzi most likely had a good reason for introducing the more expensive part later in the production term, and that it probably wasn't that the thing didn't work as well as the cheaper part. ;)

After looking at the gaskets (in the picture again) I would use the spray the CopperCoat or Hylomar .

:D.....Way too late for that!  After conferring with several of you guys in both public & private, I installed the MG latest  & greatest cam chain cover gasket dry on wednesday.  Then proceeded to replace the leaking timing sensor too after dealing with that pos for a few years now.  Oil had been making it way up through the center of the sensor and out between sensor molded housing and cable casing.  I also replaced some missing heat insulating foil on the exterior bottom of the fuel tank.  So, I gassed it up Friday and rode a few miles.  There doesn't seem to be any leaks oil or fuel (yet).  I did the shift spring thing last Fall, no leaks at the trans either,  I hope i'm hitting a lucky patch with these recent repair tasks.  I'm happy I didn't break the fuel tank fittings when working with the tank.  Today, I washed it and maybe, weather permitting, I'll be able to ride again soon.
