I received a set of rear wheel bearings a couple days ago which are marked "China." Anyone have any experience with these? Not what I expected from MG Cycle.

Just about any bearing you buy is going to be made in China.  There is nothing inherently wrong with Chinese bearings, some (mostly name brand) are high-quality.  Others are junk.  Hoping that MG sent you the good kind.

We are getting near the point with China that we reached with Japan in the late nineteen-seventies.  Mid-to early seventies "Made in Japan" was still a joke that connoted low quality.  Ten more years and I think we will feel the same way about Chinese industrial products.

Maybe, but right now if I have a choice between two parts, one is made in China and the other is made pretty much anywhere else, I would pick the non-Chinese part. Sure some stuff made by non-Chinese companies that is made in China is good. But much of what is made in China is less than good. They have a long way to go and I am not sure they will get there. Japan has a much different culture.

You know you can get bearings pretty much anywhere, right?

Why for Pete's sake buy bearings from MG? V11 wheel bearings are very common sizes. You can order/buy them at every automotive store for a lot less money.

A spreadsheet of the bearing sizes for each model would be handy.
