czakky Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Has anyone ever sourced the little o-rings that help seal up the air bypass screws on the throttle bodies? Just did a little tune up and at one turn out I'm not at nearly a steady idle I had before.
gstallons Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Have you removed yours to look at their condition ?
czakky Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 Yeah, they are a little flat, supple but flat and I am a little OCD about cleaning the TBs every other oil change or so. I'd imagine that carb cleaner doesn't help 15 year old o-rings.
JBBenson Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Crap. There are o-rings in there? I don't remember seeing them when I removed the brass bleed screws while cleaning the throttle bodies. Are they fitted to the screw itself or the screw seat? Yet ANOTHER thing to check....thanks Czakky. In any case, I picked up one of those o-ring assortments (in a clear plastic box) from AutoZone. It has really come in handy more than once.
danl Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I haven't tried to source them, but I imagine they are a standard metric size. If none of the Guzzi suppliers have them you could try McMaster-Carr. You'd probably have to buy a bag of 50 though! They are probably available in some carb rebuild kit, but you'd still have to come up with a dimension and do some research.
czakky Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 @JB they are on the screw itself, just remember they are dealing with some serious heat there. @danl kinda what I was thinking, just thought I'd see if someone had done the leg work already.
