What's the black plug situated just by the oil sensor, attached with two cap heads, forward of the left cylinder?  Wondering as mine has begun to weep a wee bit of oil.

Ah, cheers guys.  Yeah I gave them a wee tweek but it didn't stop the weepage.  I'll pull it and check the seal.

The metal washer(s) is used to set the air gap between the sensor tip and the reluctor teeth . If there is oil coming out of the cavity where the wiring plugs into the sensor , you should replace the sensor .

Yet more expense....  I think I found one on ebay for £55- does that sound right?

I can't verify whether it's the correct one, but there's one for £25.98 on Ebay in UK.  Couldn't post a link, but search "crank sensor Moto Guzzi V11"

I believe that the Alfa part is only compatible with certain years, so it might be a good idea to check before shelling out your spondulies

Does the Guzzi part number for the V11 cam sensor/ TDC sensor/ timing sensor change over the range?

The 1999-2001 parts manual shows this:

#35 Phase/revolution sensor - - - - - GU01721600

Screen%20Shot%202015-07-12%20at%209.08.0

I think the later ones are different, but I'm only going on second-hand knowledge, so apologies if I'm feeding you misinformation!

I checked the 2004 owners manual and it lists the Timing Sensor as SEN813.

They're on ebay uk, like Paradiso mentions, in a motorcycle specific listing (v11, Brutale, Ducati) for £26.

I'm just off out to the bike now to remove the old one and check it.

P.S.  Quite glad the leak wasn't coming from somewhere else... Somewhere more involved....
