Blueboarhound Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Gentlemen, this stately ride will provide us with an opportunity to parade our vintage, cafe, bobbed, and unique motorcycles, and demonstrate our sense of understated style. If you are planning on attending, dust off your posh frocks, tune your vintage bike, and lets bring a little class and levity to Central PA. The date has been set (Sept. 27, 2015), the route and other details are in the works. We're looking at a 3ish hour tour with re-grouping points and a final stop for everyone to meet and socialize over the day's ride and our machines. Blueboarhound Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 HEAR YE, HEAR YE! Lancaster Brewing Company has come on board as a sponsor for the Central PA. (Hershey - Harrisburg) ride. The ride will culminate at their Harrisburg location. https://www.lancasterbrewing.com/
Blueboarhound Posted September 25, 2015 Author Posted September 25, 2015 Less than 48 hours until the start of the ride, looking forward to having a good time and meeting some new brothers in arms (motorcycles). 1
LowRyter Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 For sure I'm not wearing a Don Draper suit. In fact I plan to wear my regular gear. Maybe a tie (if it ain't too hot), half helmet and a cigar. We have a couple of Triumph riders that plan to wear kilts. I never understood why kilts were the fashion statements for Okies riding English bikes. We'll have some dudes with cowboy duds riding Harleys too.
Blueboarhound Posted September 26, 2015 Author Posted September 26, 2015 I've seen the occasional thong on a pillion at speed when her skirt was blown up so I'm not so sure I'd be wanting to ride behind those Brit bikes.....
Blueboarhound Posted September 26, 2015 Author Posted September 26, 2015 Right now the Weather Channel is showing showers after 3pm for Harrisburg. If we depart at 9:45am as planned we should be back to LBC by noon for some socializing, bike admiring and telling of lies. From there everyone can decide how long they want to stay based on their time to ride home vs. the weather. I'll be watching the weather forecast for any changes that would necessitate the rain date of Oct. 4th.
LowRyter Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 I've seen the occasional thong on a pillion at speed when her skirt was blown up so I'm not so sure I'd be wanting to ride behind those Brit bikes..... I think it's even worse. I am told that when one wears underwear, it's no longer a kilt, it's a skirt.
Scud Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 I just checked the DGR site. 34,162 riders registered around the world. They are currently only a few thousand dollars away from raising $2,000,000. Donate now or we will lift our kilts in your general direction. https://www.gentlemansride.com/rider/blueboarhound https://www.gentlemansride.com/rider/kiwiroy https://www.gentlemansride.com/rider/lowryter https://www.gentlemansride.com/rider/scud
Blueboarhound Posted September 28, 2015 Author Posted September 28, 2015 The Central Pennsylvania ride (Hershey-Harrisburg) was a success. We had about 20 riders and raised $3,000. 1
