sp838 Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 As soon as the temps dip below freezing, it's on.
gstallons Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 sp , is there any reason you can't keep the factory harness and have an add-on harness for your own additions ?
Craig Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 sp , is there any reason you can't keep the factory harness and have an add-on harness for your own additions ? No, except that the factory harness is an abomination. Just knowing that ugly thing is under the tank bothers me.
gstallons Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Keep the fuel tank and seat on and you will never know the difference .
sp838 Posted October 10, 2015 Author Posted October 10, 2015 My New Year's Resolution will be to stop taking the tank and seat off so often.
Scud Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I was thinking about you while I finished dismantling the bike I got for parts. I have a new appreciation for the V11 harness. I can't really see where you would make it much smaller. Other than installing a 30amp MAXI fuse and potentially changing the starter flow, the stock harness seems pretty good to me. To aid the discussion - here's a complete harness - main and front section. Missing from this: regulator, controls/bar switches, side-stand switch.
Craig Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Keep the fuel tank and seat on and you will never know the difference . Nope, hard to get the memory of that out of my mind...
