The last one was a kinda "Euro" version for the gas crisis with the stovebolt 6, hatchback and 4 speed manual overdrive. The bad boy was the '69 SS with "396" (402 CI) L-78 solid lifter 375 hp (also rated at 425 or 450 hp in '65 Corvette). My dad had a '70 Chevy II 4 door company car. That was the tightest, stiffest bodied car I'd ever sat in despite the rubber carpets. I think there were more "pro street" Novas on the road than Camaros or Mustangs. I remember a disappointed Road Runner guy getting beat by a new SS 350 on a marked off portion of May Ave. The MOPAR fans were disappointed. Edited January 12 by LowRyter 1 1
