docc Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 I've always thought that the v11 rear end looked awful without the tail-section- and not so easy to customise perhaps? I have honestly yet to see a 'true' V11 that was fully customised to look better than the original v11sport. Even ghezzi- and we all know how good they are. I mean, not like a tonti, or f/bed etc, that had a structure in place to bolt to... Case in point: http://www.returnofthecaferacers.com/2016/12/round-head-racer-moto-guzzi-lemans-mkii.html mmmmmm! Should put this on 'what bike would you desire' thread. I do love round-fins, but that rear section looks a bit chunky to my eyes. After reading interviews with the V11 designer, Luciano Marabese, I understand his determination to keep the (rather large) V11 tail section: it is reminiscent of the Gambalunghino he penned the V11 from. Looking at a way to "slim" the tail on my Sport. Hope Luciano M. will be okay with it . . .
stewgnu Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 Really? It's one of my favourite aspects of the design. I even like the weirdly-shaped tank too!
docc Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 Seems it's reminiscent of a certain era roadrace bike? Lot's of folks find it appealing, and it certainly works together as a package!
docc Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 Also an 1100 Sport, Foundry Motorcycle's "Pipeline" really shows off the layout of a proper SpineFrame! Imagine the sound with you helmet right above that dual throat Weber! 1
footgoose Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 that video is funnnnny the exhaust is ridiculous.
stewgnu Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Nice, and autofab have a snazzy slip of a tail on this one: http://www.autofabrica.com/#/type-9/
Lucky Phil Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Also an 1100 Sport, Foundry Motorcycle's "Pipeline" really shows off the layout of a proper SpineFrame! Imagine the sound with you helmet right above that dual throat Weber! Not only ugly but almost totally unrideable. Ciao 2
docc Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 I'd just like to hear it ride by at full chat.
Lucky Phil Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 I'd just like to hear it ride by at full chat. I suspect you'd be dissapointed docc. Ciao
Paradiso Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 The Foundry Guzzi was on UK Ebay a few months ago. Price was around £11 000 IIRC. Sent from my GT-I8190N using Tapatalk
docc Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 I'd just like to hear it ride by at full chat. I suspect you'd be dissapointed docc. Ciao Could be. I wouldn't want to be the one to dial in the tune with that intake/exhaust and a downdraft Weber ! (We'll have to get 'dangerous' to take that task on! ) The article I read in Café Racer Magazine said they stripped the body work off looking for a tube frame and were surprised to find the spine instead, but after a bit saw what genius (my word) it is.
Chuck Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 It is an abomination and should be cast out.. 3
