hammershaug Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Is the relays from onlinecomponents US-made? Suspiciously low price..: https://www.onlinecomponents.com/omron-electronics/g8he1c7trdc12-42670683.html More confident here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/OMRON-G8HE-1C7T-R1-12V-DC-40A-High-Current-Automotive-Relay-Pack-of-2/352399730739 Omron Automotive SPDT 40A 12V, High Current Automotive 5 Pin Relay Omron Relay Made in USA Coil Voltage: 12 VDC , 40A Contact Contact Form: SPDT (1 Form C) Contact Material: Silver Tin Oxide (AgSnO) Mounting Style: Socket-able Terminals Style: Plug and Play Full automated assembly Power Consumption: 1.3W Coil Resistance: 124 Ohms Designed to meet all standard Mini ISO load re- quirements L x W x H = 22.7 x 15.2 x 26.6 mm nominal Operating Temperature: -40°C ~ 125°C
docc Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 onlinecomponenets is a reliable source and, yes, the OMRON High Current relays are not expensive. The description in the ebay ad is mostly good. I question the NO/NC current ratings (not shown) and would rather see a view of the information on the top of the relay. Interesting to see the full size contact blades. The standard G8HE has the smaller blades throughout. Perhaps this is the "1" after the "R" in the model number? 1
hammershaug Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Thanks for your input, docc. I ordered Omrons from eBay last winter and swapped all five a few weeks ago. Is there any chance to verify the quality without tearing one apart?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
4corsa Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I received my 10 Omrons from Online Components two weeks ago. See attached, they say Made In USA, and work fine. Perhaps they can sell cheaper due to volume (min 10 per order). Anyway, if anyone is interested in the other 5 I now have, will ship to the lower 48 for $20. 1
hammershaug Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I'm interested! How much for shipping to Norway? Please PM or even better: hammershaug at mac dot com
4corsa Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 I'm interested! How much for shipping to Norway? Please PM or even better: hammershaug at mac dot com I'm sorry, I have no idea what these would cost to ship to Norway.
docc Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 I recall @Rolf Halvorsen securing an inventory of these in Norway. Perhaps he still has some available?
hammershaug Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 Good idea. I haven’t spoke to Rolf since October, so it’s about time:)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

jetboy Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 I recently got some Omrons from Verical https://www.verical.com/ the onlinecomponents order I placed never arrived- not sure it was their fault but they did not offer a refund or replacement- saying it was too late when I told them the package did not arrive. I was a bit late checking, but I'd been patiently waiting.. or so I thought. Verical showed up quick and seem to work! 1 1
docc Posted June 12, 2021 Author Posted June 12, 2021 Recent reports that Online Components no longer has the C-form (5-pin) G8HE. They apparently have the A-form (4-pin) which can be used in Positions 2-5 on our V11, but not Position #1/ Start Relay. That requires a Form C/ 5-pin. If anyone discovers a source for the discontinued OMRON G8HE-1C7T-R-DC12, please post! 1 1
