I'm thinking of going to Caesars Head State Park, S.C.

As I mentioned on WG, I am taking my travel trailer to Smithville Lake MO, just between KC and St Jo.

 

My youngest son will turn 28 on that day.  He was born in Belleville IL which is just north of the direct path.  A happy convergence.  

 

I hope both my sons, family and friends can make it.

276 south of Caesars head is not to be missed.. 

I'll be in Oshkosh playing airplane all week, and will miss the eclipse.  So many things to do, so little time..

The view from from Carbondale , Il to Hopkinsville , Ky is alleged to be perfect viewing for this  . My hometown ( Barlow ) is to be the first town in Ky to see this event .

 A lot of businesses in the tri-state area are closing for this experience and a LOT of visitors are expected .Ozzy ( the Ozzy ) is going to be @ Walker's Bluff Winery , Carterville , east of Carbondale . BYOB .Bring Your Own Bats . I will be working that day . Bah , humbug !

I'll be there as well camping at the fairgrounds. Look for a silver Toyota Tacoma with shell and a white vintage '89 Vanagon. Hope we can meet up!

         I expect the fairgrounds is  pretty much booked out, I think we will be camping on a farm outside town but I will try to swing by.
