Well , I have finally given in to two "styles" of TPS for this fuel injection system . There is a linear potentiometer and a logarithmic potentiometer .  The linear sensor is in a setup to where 1/4 turn gives you 25% , 3/8 gives you 37.5% of scale ....etc. 

The logarithmic potentiometer is like a humpback where 1/4 turn may give you 25% but 3/8 may give you 50% of scale .

What the man said is correct, but he strikes me as an idiot who hasn't really understood what he is talking about. :huh2:

PS: I've earned my living as a sound engineer for the last 40 odd years. B)

I didn't think there was ever any question with regards to this. Same as Ducati, early non linier and later linier. One has adjustment slots and one doesn't. The earlier PF09 large style are also non linier.

This is the first place I found it and I give credit where credit is due . He reminds me of Professor Irwin Corey . I just did not know a pot could be non-linear  If you want to straighten out the loose ends, I would be glad to listen .

No, never mind.

He annoyed me with his quick and unexplained reference to "3dB". What most people seem to not understand is that a decibel is not a defined quantity of something, but rather expresses a ratio related to a reference.

If you want to, look here. It might well make your brain hurt. I only retain enough of it to give sensible instructions to my colleagues (make it 3 dB louder...).

Thank you ,  I will read these and think about it . Do you know who markets the TPS for the Guzzi system and is it worth installing ? I think Magneti Marelli is the OEM supplier .  I am going on memory from when there was a conversation about a different TPS .

My only awareness of non-linear "amounts" is the Richter Scale of earthquake numbers. Living near the New Madrid Fault Line has one advantage .

California Cycle Works as previously mentioned.

I don't know what you mean by "fooling around with" The CA cycle works TPS is a quality replacement for whatever your model of V11 used originally and thats what you should stick with.
