docc Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 . . . the earth strap on the V11's is a bit weedy and is bolted to painted bits with very little effort having been put in to ensuring good contact. If one bolts the major return paths securely to clean metal on the block it is a lot less likely that the electrics will play up. A certified GM technician was admiring my Sport when it was all torn down. I showed him where I had grounded the added horn relays ( to the fuel pump mounts). He related a story as how GM had encountered some earthing problems and subsequently fitted the connections with star washers. Apparently this is all it took to get a sure bite into the block or frame.
