swooshdave Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 I may have shared similar shots before but I thought I'd consolidate them here. I just find the little details on this bike fascinating. Especially the foot levers. I get drawn to this bike each time I visit the Barber Museum and this time was no different. This time I notice the brake pedal also pivots like the shifter. I wonder how that feels? Enjoy. 3
footgoose Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Kept an airbox, of sorts, and displayed the rear shock! nice. I don't understand the foot controls. Beautiful bike.
docc Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 WOW! Thanks for all the detailed photography! Worth a lengthy study session . . .
czakky Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 So many cool details! I remember seeing a Furia(?) at a shop once it was a face only a mother could love but I would not be past taking it for a rip.
swooshdave Posted October 11, 2017 Author Posted October 11, 2017 So a V11 engine with a five speed box? Interesting they didn't use the six speed.
docc Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Well, the injected 1100 Sport-i engine still had the 5speeder . . . So, probably not a V11 . . . 1
coreytrevor Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 I vote V11 also. I can see the mount on the crankcase for the late style V11 engine/trans subframe. Whatever you call that part.

What is that "late style V11 engine/trans subframe"? Can you show a pic? I did not know the early (silver) V11) engine differs at all from the late 1100Sport-i?
coreytrevor Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 The threaded hole below the lower starter bolt. 1
docc Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 So a later V11 motor, prior generation 5speeder, and no-telling what SpineFrame! (I noticed the V11-style sidestand, but not sure if those were also used on the the last of the 1100Sport-i)
coreytrevor Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 My strange brain likes puzzles like that. Did the frame start life as an OE frame?
