LowRyter Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 I recently tried to save an Odyssey PC545 that spent the winter on a low amp/ low volt BatteryTender. Could not save it. But the book says that cold weather won't discharge an Odyssey. The big problem is that big V twin needs lots of cranking amps. My 4 cylinder needs little kick but when that battery is gone it's like an on/off switch. No slow cranking, it's just dead.
docc Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 It's not the cold weather, but the low voltage/low amp chargers that will kill them. Batteries that sit a lot are tough. No such thing as "No Maintenance."
Kiwi_Roy Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 When are you going to give up that Odyssey Doc? Too finicky for me
docc Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 But, I am such a DieHard Odyssey devotee. And they last close to ten years. (Just fun saying DieHard® and Odyssey® in the same sentence . . . )
docc Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Explosion in a Valeo factory.. Fresh from a Rosso Corsa - magnets came loose:
Chuck Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Never have heard of that one before.. Ok, I lied. 1
