stewgnu Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Ok ok ok, so who here is running a v11, regularly likes, that exhibits an oil leak? I am.
docc Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Last year, I finally buttoned all mine up. After putting up with them for years and years . . . 1
LowRyter Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 ..........mine has had a cracked tranny and a leaking front seal and timing cover gasket.
footgoose Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 the '02 started dripping onto the xover 3 years years ago. it was a disintegrating case/frame vent tube. the '00 I just got into my life is doing the same. It's SO obviously a rotten vent tube, again, onto the xover. The '02 also leaked from the timing sensor. None of the leaks made it to the floor.
czakky Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Ive had several. Timing cover gasket, front crank seal, timing sensor (a few times), crank vent tube, rear drive seal (fingers crossed the big outside one will hold) and the one I haven’t got yet is the rear transmission not a gasket housing. None marked territory... I don’t count the valve covers either.
stewgnu Posted August 5, 2018 Author Posted August 5, 2018 My 2004 has never marked her spot. Are you sure you’re on the right forum? 1
stewgnu Posted August 5, 2018 Author Posted August 5, 2018 Timing gasket leak, poss weeping from the crank sensor hole, and poss one other as yet undiagnosed.... Parked up she puts a ‘coin’ of black down now, the dirty girl.
bbolesaz Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 None, other than the day the crankcase ventilation line split in two while rolling down the freeway. Then it was like a crop duster mated with the Exxon Valdez.
Tom M Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 None, other than the day the crankcase ventilation line split in two while rolling down the freeway. Then it was like a crop duster mated with the Exxon Valdez. Me too.

Oh, and that pesky O-ring on the head bolt under the rocker shaft that keeps staining my head fins.
docc Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 oooh my.......... Gosh, I guess I should clarify that my Sport hasn't had all of those leaks. That was sort of a compendium. Admittedly, my Sport may be over-represented in the leak threads . . .
