Chuck Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Austin, the guy working in my shop, has the Guzzi hots. Imagine that.. He sent me a Craigs list ad for a 01 V11s that says: The bike has two known issues, both of which appear to be minor, but we haven't had time to dig into yet:- It runs roughly at low RPM/idle intermittently- The shift linkage appears to need adjustment I'm wondering what would cause intermittent rough running? Do you suppose it's as simple as a flaky relay? Sounds like both issues are easy to fix, and the price is right..
footgoose Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 depending on how much it gets used it could be condensation in the fuel tank. every "old" bike I acquire gets the tank washed out.
docc Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 I can't count the number of stumbly V11 that straightened out with Best Relays and a Decent Tune-up.
Mike Stewart Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 Valve adjustment and a good throttle body sync. Also use looser valve adjustment specs. than what Guzzi say's to use.
JRD Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 Mine was rough running when I first bought. Czaky came over and helped with a good tune up. Removed the Air fuel mixture screws and sprayed automotive carb cleaner thru them. We couldn't believe the crud that came out of those orifices. Looked like flakes of varnish! Good luck and keep us posted 1
