skarlando Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 Hi, I am looking for a set of wire spoked rims for a 2003 V11 Sport, 2003 originally with 5.5" rear width rims. Could be used or not-too-expensive new ones. Live in Norway (Europe). Any offers, advice or information would be appreciated (have read the forums and checked the exorbitant oem prices). Best regards Øyvind
gstallons Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 Spoke wheels......as in factory (OEM) wheels ?

docc Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 Have you checked the contacts in the posted links to see if they are still available?
skarlando Posted November 1, 2018 Author Posted November 1, 2018 I tried this email twice, no dice, neither "ingo" nor "mandello-cycles" works. Address not found Your message wasn't delivered to MANDELLO-CYCLES@t-online.de because the address couldn't be found or is unable to receive email. 1
bbolesaz Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 I believe Alpina wheels has a version for V11. Tubeless to boot !
docc Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 brlawson (RIP) had built these wheels a few years back. I am not sure what happened to them after he passed. Member doslemans has stayed in contact with Bruce's son in Alabama, USA. https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?app=gallery&image=1709
swooshdave Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 My wallet hurts looking at those wheels. 1
docc Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 My wallet hurts looking at those wheels. Seems Ghezzi-Brian has them (Kineo) , but I don't see any pricing. http://www.ghezzi-brian.com/en/cerchi-per-moto/kineo-spoke-wheels/
gstallons Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 I have Alpinas on mine ......Expensive..... Worth every cent .
skarlando Posted November 4, 2018 Author Posted November 4, 2018 I got in touch with Mandello Cycles (Germany) by phone. They said their supplier from Spain, Akront (/ Morad) had quality problems with these rims so could not recommend them. The Alpinas look good, however are they still made? Seems not from their web page and some forums. If anyone knows of suppliers with any left, I would be happy to see contact details. The second hand rims from brlawson probably have a good home already.. :-) I checked Kineo / Ghezzi-Brian earlier. Available but very expensive (€2500 + shipping + customs/vat - more than half the value of my used bike, so this option is off the table for now). 1
Twin AH Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 I have a set of these on my Stelvio…. Quality product in my humble opinion. Ciao

I’m not sure if you were expecting wire wheels for these bikes to be inexpensive because let’s just get that notion out of your head.
