Cakky I just have to ask if you have ridden a bike with a hack? As I did not like them in the least lol. But a T-3 would be nice. :)

Got her home this weekend. I of course didn’t take any good pics. Rest assured I will have it looking/riding much better before spring.

The tank is no bueno, so I will take this opportunity to paint the tins. I’m thinking red or pale blue ala Lemans mk 1.

Cylinders are Nikasil, the bars are going to go, fork seals, timing chain tensioner and fresh brake lines are what will get done this winter.

@jester, I have not. At this stage it’s just a pipe dream, maybe in the next couple years as my three year old gets older...

My first attempt at serious body paint didn’t go so well... She’s going to be “Ford tractor red”. I’ll call it passable.

Chrome cylinders replaced and very little to no leakage from the valves under my leak down tester so the heads went back on.

All new brass in the carbs.

Fresh pod filters and I eliminated the airbox and stock breather system replaced with a loop breather system. With all new hoses including the properly strange cross fuel line thingy.

Fresh stainless braided oil feed lines to the heads.

Random gaskets and rubber replaced everywhere.

Valtek tensioner and fresh timing chain.

I’ve got to go back into the timing chest for a third time after seeing one of the unused bolts still a couple mm too long and a bit too close to the crank for my taste.

Forks completely rebuilt including a new tube on one side and new damper cartridges. The only fluid in one of the forks was water....

All three calipers rebuilt after dicovering some seriously rusty pistons.

Hopefully I can get the stainless brake lines on today.

I’m sure there’s more but that’s where I’m at with her for now.

Still looking to install new handlebars (OEM 70-72 Yamaha R5 I had laying around) and modern switches.

Sort of halfway looking to replace the floorboards with stock pegs, but they are starting to grow on me.

The Krauser hard bag setup will be for sale, I’m just not cool enough to pull this off...

Still have to go through the ignition and ignition switch. I don’t like how loose the key position is in the run position.

Fresh turn signals and still deciding if I want to swap an 850t/v7 sport console. I’ve always like those but I’m not sure if I’d need to replace the entire dash to do it.

That’s where I’m at i will try and get some pics (if anybody’s interested) weather permitting.

If that properly strange cross over fuel line connector is the crimped one, it can easily come apart, dump fuel on your tire, and cause a spectacular crash and burn. Don't ask me how I know. :)

Use the dual banjo on the carbs instead.

D’oh! I actually went the opposite route. Going from dual banjo to the crossover tube....

that makes a lot of sense.

Definitely used your G5 re-commissioning thread on WG, thanks again Chuck!

Even though I’ve got her all buttoned something has been eating away at me.

I checked the cam followers and found a spec or two of plating missing on two of them. I’m talking like smaller than 1mm near the center and I couldn’t feel a ridge with my fingernail.

Am I asking for trouble?

I'd take an oil stone to it if it's not deep. Just do the best you can to keep the profile.

I'm *assuming* they have a small dome to make them rotate? I'm *not* a Guzzi mechanic..
