moto fugazzi Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Now that I have your attention, I had my wheels powder coated, and I was wondering if I need to put grease or anything on the cush drive rubber bits. Thanks for your prompt response, Ken
gstallons Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 You need to make sure the rubber and grease is compatible .
MartyNZ Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 I lubed my rubber bits. I sprayed the cush rubbers and the pockets with molybdenum disulfide dry lube spray. Greg Field wrote about a good idea you can do to the cush rubbers here: https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?/topic/11820-making-a-cushier-cush-drive/&tab=comments#comment-125587 I think this link might be interesting too: https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?/topic/20331-cush-drive-lubrication/&tab=comments#comment-230956 For the spline to the wheel, you might think about Kluber Staburags NBU 30 PTM. BMW part #. 07559062476. Expensive but good. 2
moto fugazzi Posted April 3, 2019 Author Posted April 3, 2019 Thanks so much, Marty! I just ordered the Moly dry lube and Kluber 30PTM. Should have them both on Friday. Ken
Tomchri Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Rear wheel rubber pads, schockabsorbers,,,, seems just ready for a treatment with M 321 and beemer grease,, after some more cleaning. None in there since 03. Did read quite a few ARGUMENTS back from 2007 about all the rubber ideas , drilling holes, removing pads? Thats more than 15min ago, any conclusions? My pads dont feel hard hard,,, so drilling holes,, nææ, looking at my splines all good, so I will keep on listening to her up and down in the mountains,, splineswear or not,,, in a month or. Ipa time. Cheers tom. Sent fra min SM-G903F via Tapatalk 1
