cash1000 Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Hi Do you know your V11? See attached photo of bolt Where does it go on your V11? Question I really want answered is how do you tighten it when there is nothing on head to use a spanner etc on? Mine have come loose. Otherwise I could replace with something else like a Button Head Cap Screw
fotoguzzi Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 That is the anti tamper bolt that goes into the bottom of the Ignition switch or it's mount. Its meant to be not removable . They screw it in then snap the head off. It's not easy to remove but sometimes they loosen up and fall right out.. I once cut a groove in one to get it out with a screw driver. 3
Chuck Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Yeah, I've dealt with those things. Just use a cap screw, and consider yourself lucky it fell out. 3
MartyNZ Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 While you have the ignition switch out, it is a good time to clean and lube it's guts. I have some ignition switch grease you can use. 1
stewgnu Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 I’ve had a few fixings of various types rattle loose there. What have you guys had success with? is there a torque value or anyone using a threadlocker?
gstallons Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 Uhhhh , this is kinda vague . what are you finding loose ? Some things get Loctite blue . Red if it is PERMANENT . Some get different kinds of washers . If you have a torque wrench and like using it , PRACTICE using it . Get a torque table and practice .
