tikkanen Posted February 14, 2005 Posted February 14, 2005 Alright, an Aston Martin could do the trick..... (it's designed by a Dane, did you know that? A chap named Henrik Fisker, who now has started his own car brand, which I can't remember the name of)
Guest freeman Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 I have a 2003 V11 that had the same problem. Its a recall/warranted fix at the dealer and they have to replace the Engine Case. There is a specific amount of damage that must occur before they agree to do so, but its doesn't take very long for the damage to get bad enough to have the work done. Make sure you look into it as soon as possible with your dealer. the real irritation about this whole thing is that the dealer knows this problem exist when the sell the bikes. I've been lucky, my dealer is a great guy and he has been very supportive. It takes a while for the dealer to get the engine cases in, so plan ahead. Hope this helps
al_roethlisberger Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 It mostly relies on how aggressive/influential one's dealer is too I think. Moto Italiano got my case replacement approved sight-unseen... al
Baldini Posted February 19, 2005 Posted February 19, 2005 It mostly relies on how aggressive/influential one's dealer is too I think.... I think so too. I figure only specialist Guzzi dealers have knowledge/contacts built up over long time to get problems sorted quickly. Often I heard someone waiting months for a part that if they used Moto Corsa/Mecca/Twiggers/TLM etc they'd have it done. KB
