th_01 Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 Since I'm opening the tranny to take care of the tranny recall I was thinking about replacing the clutch. I have 25K miles on the bike. Do they make a bonded clutch for the 00 V11 Sport? Anyone have any thoughts on the matter? Tom
docc Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 I wrestled with this when my gearbox came out. Finally concluded " it ain't broke" , so I didn't 'fix' it.
jrt Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 Depending on how you ride, you should easily get 75K out of your clutch. It ain't broke. J
antonio carroccio Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 Try without a cluntch. Not only up, but also down
Guest d.starling Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 dear th 01, i also have a 00 v11 and my clutch went south at 15,000 miles. rivets let go, i for one would look for any indication that things may be amiss. although i'm clueless to what that may look like. but mg clutches are not indestructable and not everone gets major milage out of them. and no i did not dog my clutch.
emry Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 Try without a cluntch. With possible misheat treated gear dogs.
antonio carroccio Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 Try without a cluntch. With possible misheat treated gear dogs. Sorry, I am not native English and I do not get it!!! Do you maybe mean “I do maltreated it”? ciao
jrt Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 Do you maybe mean “I do maltreated it”? ciao He means that the heat treating was done incorrectly. J
antonio carroccio Posted February 26, 2004 Posted February 26, 2004 He means that the heat treating was done incorrectly. J I still don't get it! What’s the connection with the clutch? The clutch is hydraulic and so far I know, it will never become hot. More than that, in a warm situation, the gearbox will sure work better. Just try, listen to me. ciao
