In the "do I have to draw you a picture?"category,could someone post a series of pictures of the proper way to mount and raise the bike on the factory or copy of shop stand?

FWIW, I attached a chain hoist to a rafter and use slings to lift the bike up as high as I like, with nothing underneath in the way. I can either sit on a chair or stand up, as I wish.

 

There are also reasonably priced electric hoists from Harbor Freight.
