There is a washer between the lever and the foot peg to prevent binding. Mike The bolt size is Flat Socket Head Screw A2 SS - M10 x 1.50 x 80M. I think you'll also need a spacer -- 10mm ID, 15mm OD, 20mm long. Can find one, still looking. 1
Bob Maynard Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 McMaster.com has unthreaded stainless or aluminum M10 spacers, but od is 16mm. Might not be hard to take a mm off aluminum, even without a lathe.
bridge Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 Finished lowering the pegs as milar outlined above. The increased leg room is perfect. I had a little trouble getting the brake pedal to move freely while holding the peg tight, but worked it out with the addition of a nut right up against the peg mount. I ordered and received spacers to fill out the inner diameter of the brake pedal. They fit over the M10 bolt and very nearly (maybe 1mm shy, a little play) make up the gap. The only drawback of the new arrangement is shifting up, as the shifter lever is too high and I can't shift without removing my foot from the peg (a lot of false neutrals). Is the shifter angle adjustable? I'm happy to send you my extra hardware (two extra long M10 bolts for the right side, plus nine sets of spacers. PM me with your mailing address, no charge. 1

freehme Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 I ended up buying a lower kit from Ebay and had the same issue about the pigeon toe shifting. So, though not the best solution, it seems to work. I got a M6 coupler and a longer M6 bolt and threaded it for each side. 1
ChrisPDX Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Hi folks: Attached are a few photos of silver Knight Design pegs I just installed on a 2001 Greenie. https://knightdesignllc.com/moto-guzzi-front-foot-pegs-sidetrax-lowered-1-inch/ I ordered, and they arrived in 3 days (granted, Knight is in Oregon and so am I). Very solid CNCd aluminum parts that use the existing mounting location, bracket and hardware. Total install time including chasing one of the little (briefly airborne) retaining clips across the shop was 10 minutes. No extra parts or fasteners required. It's useful to know, the end result is a slightly wider foot position than stock, requiring some noticeable toe-in to reach rear brake pedal properly. You could easily space/extend that pedal end if desired. The stock shifter pedal end sticks out further than the brake side, so reaching it is no issue. Angle change took about 5 minutes of riding to get used to. Your experience may vary. I'm about 5'11" with 32" inseam and size 11 US boots, for what that's worth. The 1" of extra leg room sounds inconsequential, but when you sit on the bike it feels (to me) much better. Wife even said I now look "more normal" on the bike. Which I'm trying to take the right way... Hope this helps clarify your choices. 2 1
