O2 V11 Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Anyone have a spare gearbox selector plate for sale? Black wrinkle finish to suit a 2002 manufactured bike. I cracked mine while refitting it to fix leak after fitting new spring. Thanks, Rob

Thanks, Rob 02 was a changeover from the old style plate with the roll pin over travel stop for the ratchet arm to the eccentric adjustable stop. Does your plate have a 10mm nut on the external side about half way up on the rear edge? If so its the later style 01 20 16 41 plate. Ciao 1 1
O2 V11 Posted February 26, 2020 Author Posted February 26, 2020 Thanks Lucky Phil, mine has the roll pin so that makes it the earlier styled one not sure of the part number.

Thanks, Rob Rob, I bought an improved side plate for my bike, which has an eccentric adjuster and banana link that Phil mentioned above. See https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?/topic/19547-v11-shift-improvement/ and https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?/topic/18571-trying-to-fix-broken-shifter-spring/&do=findComment&comment=202283 You can buy one here: http://www.harpermoto.com/selector-kit-v11-973260900017.html It has the black semi gloss paint finish, but it is hidden by the starter so it doesn't matter much. Or you can have the one I take off my bike this winter, but that will be a couple of months away. 1
O2 V11 Posted March 2, 2020 Author Posted March 2, 2020 Marty, thanks for the offer of your plate but hopefully mine is fixable. Here is the crack in my selector plate. What I shall attempt to do is a repair by using a Dremel type tool to open up the crack and then a JB Weld product something like their SteelStik to fill the crack. The plate's top edge is not cracked. Suggestions as to whether I am on the right track or not would be greatly appreciated. What prompted me to remove the plate was a leak for the second time after fitting a new improved selector spring.I used Cyberbond 7518 but this never set probably due to the surfaces not being cleaned properly. I wiped them but didn't use any degreaser solution to remove traces of oil on them. Either that or the sealer was past it used by date, I am not really sure at all what went wrong. Rob
gstallons Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 If it matters , what are you using as a gasket when you reinstall ? What caused the damage anyway ?
