Pretty nice looking scooter, certainly no Greenie but pretty nice.

Docc, where do you find this stuff?   You're a little bit Spineframe obsessed?   Those cold hands still on the keyboard?  Jus' sayin'.

Sometimes rare = nobody wanted it. Sometimes limited editions increase demand. Ironically, it seems the series-numbered Scura and Rosso Mandello are among the more common configurations of V11, while the Tenni volume remained low.

I've heard about 200 units for the LeMans Nero Corsa... and that the Rosso Corsa was more common.

As for the Scura R, yeah, it's rare and I like the paint, but personally, I've never cared for red seats - cuz the red seat never matches the red paint. They get close... but gettgin close is worse than just adding a complementary color. For example, I think it would be cool with a medium brown leather saddle.

My Scura R actually came from the Isle of Man 🇮🇲 - they were the last of the V11’s as production ended & were only allocated to European countries.

I once found the breakdown per country & as I recall there were 4 only allocated to the UK.

A few year’s back a forum member pm’d asking to buy mine - but I be like Charlton Heston! 🔫

Yup.......... I think that might have been me.  B)

Course that was after acquiring quite a few rare Guzzis ago

Looked like that to me too. Then I had cataract surgery.

What with our respected V11LeMans.com domiciled in The Netherlands, with Belgium in the wings, surely if anyone has any knowledge of the V11 Playboy Exclusive Edition,  this particular "model" might be within our grasp?

So far, there is not even more than that singular image, let alone any reports of the V11 EE, itself  ?  ?  ?

Hehe! It’s optional.

Scura R came with two seats from Guzzi factory - one red, the other black.

Tried on both but for me the red popped!

Momentarily thought about storing it instead of the black to keep it pristine - but then decided I wasn’t going to be too anal & chose what gives me the “look back at it” feeling!

Someone mentioned the TT... my Scura R has been hammered around the hallowed Isle...  but unfortunately not by me!

The original owner traded it into Paul Dedman Performance motorcycles for an Aprilia after deciding it didn’t have enough outright top end speed when I spoke to him after closing deal with Paul.

I bought my Scura R sight unseen - first time actually seen a V11 was when it rolled out the van!

Maybe it was an extra big van but I remember my first impression - surprised as it seemed kinda small.

Strange, loved Guzzi’s ever since...

Wild question:  Does anyone know if the gold handlebars on the Coppa or Scura R models are in fact made by Rizoma or are they some other brand?

While I wouldn't change the clip-ons on the Scura as they are extremely comfortable, the gold color does match nicely with the gold Ohlins shocks, reservoir for rear shock, and gold Pazzo levers and Rizoma fluid containers.    Curious to see the dimensions of these handlebars compared to the stock Griso one, which I find just a bit too wide by a couple of inches...assuming that it is the same diameter and could be retro-fitted to the Griso...more projects to ponder!

So at this point, have we concluded there are no Scura R's in the US?

Can’t remember how I’ve got this information floating around in my head - but I seem to recall someone mentioning the handlebars are a shared Aprilia  item.

Yep from the Aprilia factory, straight from the first gen Tuono.

Here's some interesting translated info from a German site I'm also on. I'm quoting from a long time poster there who was in the motorcycle business in Europe apparently. Probably not worth getting too carried away with "numbers" and "specialness" in the Guzzi world. Same with Ducati, there're Italian, the "Limited edition" and "model production numbers" rules are lets say, flexible.

"It's like with the elves, the first 300 Rosso Mandello were limited with number and certificate, the next hundreds were only limited editions without numbers, Scura supposedly built the same only 600 pieces, we had the number 672 in the store at that time"

Very true. I personally think they made more Scuras and Rosso Mandellos than they said. I was at Marcus Dairy one time and 2 guys showed with Limited Edition SportClassics with the same number. That was hilarious. I wouldn't be surprised if there are duplicate number Scuras and Rossas out there.

I don't think the US even ever got the Scura R. I've never seen one in the flesh. Even any pics I've seen they've all had Euro plates on them.

As for the red seat? So very very true.

Mee too.  I have learned to trust this person, he is also on other German forums.  Rides himself with a modified Centauro, a 4V and Spine Frame -specialist.  I understand that he did work a long time within the official Guzzi organisation servicing Guzzis.  He “broke in” all the new test bikes by riding them, so he was also “hands on” that way.  It is very interesting to read his comments on spine frame Guzzis, he knows lots of details regarding different models and their technical solutions, including of course the V11 models.  Had access to Piaggio data sources. A “scary moment” was to see the Scura number he mentioned.  It has been mine the last 10 years (bought it from Germany).  I have the complete owner history and he could tell what happened to this bike before it was sold as a new Scura originally (manufacturing date in Mandello, showroom time at the importer, etc.).  Regarding the manufactured numbers; I tend to believe the numbers used here.  Rosso Mandello, OK, 300+300 made, the first set numbered.  Scura, 700 made, well registered here in “Scura registry”.
