Guest chong-chong Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 I've decided I can't stand the bubbly paint no more! I 'm concerned though, that some of the mods I've done to the bike will give the dealer an excuse not to swap the engine block. Here are the mods: 1. Evoluzione fender eliminator. 2. Auxiluary lighting. 3. Headlight modulator. 4. Power Commander, Crossover, FBF mufflers (these mods were put on the bike by the dealer when I bought it). Will these mods null my waranty? Should I take off the first three mods listed above before I bring it in? For those of you who have swapped, or attempted to get the block swapped: what have been your experiences? Any advice would be appreciated.
Guest Brian Robson Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 I think it would depend on your dealer, but none of the mods would affect the engine paint so I don't think the warranty would be an issue.
mik Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 I doubt you will have any problems. None of those modifications caused the paint to bubble. Factory defect= warranty replacement= dealer gets paid by MG.
al_roethlisberger Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 ... aw yeah, I'm pretty sure you are out of luck with that fender eliminator!! Heh, sorry couldn't resist Anyway, no, almost everyone that I know that has pursued the warrantee claim has had as many, if not more, arguably "relevant" (engine/exhaust) mods..... It really is up to the dealer and how they present the claim to MGNA. So as long as your dealer isn't trying to be difficult, it should be fine. My dealer submitted mine sight unseen. al
